Before your first massage treatment, every new client completes a consultation form. This is an important part of my professional approach as a massage therapist in Glasgow and helps me create a treatment that is safe, effective, and personalised.
Whether you are looking for sports massage Glasgow, medical massage Glasgow, deep tissue massage Glasgow, pain relief, stress reduction, improved mobility, or simply relaxation, I want to understand what brings you to me.
The consultation form is the theory. It gives me information about your expectations, your problems, your lifestyle, and your health history. You tell me what you are experiencing and why you decided to book a massage. Then I verify this information in practice through assessment, movement checks, and how your body responds during treatment.

I ask about your preferred massage pressure, but the right intensity is something we discover together. The strongest massage is not always the most effective one. The goal is to find the right amount of pressure that helps your body release tension and recover.
Your occupation is also very important. Someone working at a desk, spending hours driving, training regularly, or doing physically demanding work will often develop completely different patterns of tension, restrictions, and compensations. Your daily habits affect your body.
I also ask about pregnancy, previous injuries, surgeries, medications, and medical conditions. This is not just paperwork. Some health conditions require changes to the treatment or may be a reason to avoid massage in certain situations. Safety always comes first.
For female clients, I also ask about pregnancy because massage requires extra care, especially during the first trimester. If you attend a massage during your menstrual period, it is also useful to know, as massage stimulates circulation and may affect blood flow.
Before starting, I ask you to mark areas of pain, discomfort, stiffness, or restriction on a body map. This helps me understand where you feel problems, but also allows me to look for possible causes, not only symptoms.
A professional massage is not just about using oil and applying pressure. It is about understanding your body, assessing muscle tension, trigger points, fascia restrictions, joint mobility, movement imbalances, and hidden compensations.
Every body is different. Every treatment should be different too.
